Apart from these sites, Sri Lanka exhibits a unique diversity of landscape, from sandy shores to the tea country in the hills, with rainforest in between, alongside a treasure trove of Buddhist and Hindu heritage.
This 12 day package takes you on a enthralling journey through the legendry temples at Sigiriya and Dambulla, colonial fortresses, sprawling tea gardens in Kandy, epic road journeys weaving through breath-taking landscape before reaching the surfer’s paradise at Bentota. The trip culminates at the historical city of Colombo.

Itinerary
On your arrival at the Colombo International Airport, you will be met by our representative and then driven to your hotel in Negombo. Negombo is known for centuries-old fishing business and popular for its long, sandy beaches.
At lunch time, you would be taken to a restaurant where you can watch the chef make a seafood platter for you. If you wish, you join the chef in the preparation of the dish and get first- hand experience of Sri Lankan cooking.

After breakfast, you go on a tour to see the vibrant Negombo Fish Market. Originally a fishing village Negombo is one of the biggest open-air fishing village and markets in the island country. The tour offers you an insight into the different Sri Lankan fishing types, types of fishes found, food habits and the life and culture of locals. The market can be perfectly described as an absolute riot of colours, smells and beaming smiles.

Post breakfast, you check out from the hotel and proceed towards Dambulla cave temple to see the exotic Buddhist murals. Being one of the oldest pilgrimage sites of Sri Lanka, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is an absolute must-visit. The next stop is at the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress. The royal citadel of Sigiriya stands on top of a huge rock column located 600 feet above the jungles of Central Sri Lanka. It has more than 1200 steps to get to the top. You can visit the museum, admire the frescoes in the caves, explore the boulder garden, the ruins of the royal palace and of course the gigantic and iconic lion’s paws. After Sigiriya you then move to Habarana and check into the hotel.

After breakfast, you begin you tour of Minneriya National park on a Jeep Safari. The park is probably the best place in the world to watch the World Largest wild Asian Elephant Gathering. You can also enjoy bird-watching while at the park.
The Habarana village tour includes a bullock cart ride through a banana plantation. The next stop is at a chena plantation, for which you need to cross a reservoir on a long, narrow shape traditional boat, called the ‘Oruwa’

After breakfast, you check out from the hotel and proceed for the next destination, Kandy. Enroute you make a stop at one of the several Spice and herbal garden dotting the route.
On arrival at Kandy, check into your hotel. In the evening you get to enjoy a cultural dance performance showcasing all the dance forms of Sri Lanka and also provides a glimpse of its rich cultural heritage.

Kandy was the last royal capital of the Sri Lankan monarchy and here lies one of Sri Lanka’s most important UNESCO heritage sites; the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic or Sri Dalada Maligawa. Today, after breakfast, you visit this important Buddhist temple which houses the tooth relic of Lord Buddha.
The next stop on the tour is at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya. This spectacular garden dates back to 1371 and renowned for its collection of orchids. It is home to more than 4000 species of plants, including flowering plants, palms, spices and medicinal plants.

One of the best routes to experience Sri Lanka's natural splendour is from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. Today post breakfast, you embark on a journey through this scenic route, which offers views of lush valleys, green-capped mountains, tea gardens, rivers, streams, waterfalls and some forests too. The main attraction of this journey to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya is the dozens of other waterfalls, especially the Ramboda falls.
Located at a height of more than 6000 ft, Nuwara Eliya is often called the Little England of Sri Lanka. The misty mountain ranges, stunning lakes and gurgling waterfalls along with a temperate climate makes this place a tourists paradise. Sprawling tea gardens and the city’s colonial architecture gives it a feel of a European mountain town.

Post breakfast, you check out from the hotel and proceed towards your next destination, Bentota. On arrival at Bentota, the rest of the day is free for you to relax and enjoy the haven of water sports.

Today you embark on a day tour of Bentota, exploring a few popular spots. The first stop is at Kosgoda turtle hatchery. Here, sea turtles are rescued and protected and care is taken to ensure that the eggs hatch safely without any danger or interference from predators. At the Turtle hatchery you can observe or even participate in this process of rescuing and nurturing sea turtles. After this you move on to the next stop on the itinerary, the Madu Ganga River to enjoy the Madu Ganga River Safari. Consisting of 14 mangroves, the river is home to different species of both flora and fauna that co-exist harmoniously with each other. The Madu Ganga River is one of Sri Lanka’s prized possession and a haven for biologists, ecologists and even ornithologists.

Today you have the entire day at leisure to relax and enjoy any activities as per your liking. Being the capital for water sports, Bentota offers a plethora of activities that one can choose from. Alternatively you can also choose to explore some sightseeing options in and around Bentota; Eg. Cinnamon Island, Galle Dutch fort, Ambalangoda etc

Post breakfast, you embark on the last leg of your journey, to Colombo. You enjoy a day tour of the capital city which covers many important landmarks like the Independence Square, the National Museum, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), the Dutch-Portuguese Fort area, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, churches etc.
Post lunch, you can indulge in some local shopping too before heading back to the hotel.
