Overview

Kerala is arguably South India's most serene, alluring and kaleidoscopic state. This slender coastal strip is defined by a by its layered landscape dotted with spice gardens, tea-covered hills of the Western Ghats, palm fringed beaches, breath taking hill stations, fiercely protected wildlife reserves and a languid network of glistening backwaters.
Kerala is a world in itself. Besides the famous backwaters with elegant houseboats and the rollig hills of Munnar, its also has a long, fascinating backstory illuminated by historically evocative cities like Kochi (Cochin) and Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum). Besides it is also the epicentre of age old Ayurvedic tradition, spicy exotic cuisine, and traditional art for such as Kathakali and theyyam and other age old practices like the temple festivals and snake-boat races are all part of the culture of this multihued state.
This 9 day package has been specially designed to offer you a truly unique Kerala experience complete with a guided expert. Starting off from with the fort town of Kochi, where you get to see a surreal mix of English, Dutch and Portuguese architectures, moving on to the lush hills of Munnar followed by Thekkady Lake, Periyar Tiger reserve before stopping at Allepey to enjoy the famed backwaters of Kerala. Kumarakom is where you spend the last leg of the journey before heading home.

Itinerary

Your holiday to God’s own country begins on arrival at Kochi international airport. You will be received by our representative and will be transferred to the hotel. Check into the hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax. Depending on your flight time, you could explore Kochi on your own too. You have plenty of lounges, bars and restaurants, some by the side of the sea too. You could also take a stroll on the Marine Drive or enjoy a massage at a traditional Ayurvedic spa. Overnight stay in Kochi.

Today after breakfast you proceed for a morning tour of Kochi whoch would cover all major attractions of this port city including Fort Kochi, the harbour, the Dutch Palace, Marine drive and of course the famous Chinese fishing nets. These are fixed land installations, used for fishing in a unique method. Later in the day you check out of the hotel and depart for Munnar. On arrival, complete the check in formalities and rest of the evening is for youto relax and enjoy the mesmerising locales of the destination. Do not forget to taste the exotic teas from Munnar’s tea gardens.

After a heart breakfast amidst scenic surrounding, you set out for Munnar sightseeing. A mountain town located on the western Ghats, Munnar used to be a hill station and summer retreat for the Britishers. Munnar has pleanty of sightseeing options of which you get to enjoy stops at the Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, the Anamudi peak and Eravikulam National park. Overnight stay in Munnar

After a heart breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Thekkady, The periyar wildlife sanctuary is one of the world's most fascinating natural wildlife reserves. The driv from Munnar to Thekkady is quite scenic with clear blue skies, lush meadows, waterfalls, tea gardens, and more. The top stops along the way from Munnar to Thekkady are Mattupetty Dam, Kodaikanal Lake, Periyar Lake and Periyar Tiger Reserve. You briefly stop at one of the many spice plantations on the way where significant varieties of herbs and spices are cultivated. End the day with a boat ride at Periyar National Reserve. After breakfast, you proceed for a tour of the Periyar wildlife sanctuary. Located on the banks of the Periyar Lake, the Periyar wildlife sanctuary is nestled amidst the fascinating Cardamom Hills and Pandalam Hills of the great Western Ghats. Given its scenic location and lush green surroundings, it has become a refuge to a large number of rare and endangered wildlife species.

Enjoy an evening boat cruises across the lake and marvel at the wondrous beauty of the Periyar National Park and its dwellers. Overnight stay in Thekkady.

After breakfast, you check out from the hotel and proceed to Alleppey. The Backwaters of Alleppey or Alappuzha Alleppey is known for its network of canals and lagoons with beautiful backwaters and the houseboats that ply on it. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Kerala.

On arrival at Alleppey you check in at the houseboat for an overnight cruise experience. Enjoy the magic of cruisng on the backwaters, catch a glimpse of the village life at close quarters, savour a fresh meal cooked on your floating villa and watch the sun go down from the decks of these luxurious houseboat. Truly a unique and unforgettable experience. Overnight stay on the houseboat.

After breakfast, you check out from the houseboat and depart for Kumarakom. Upon arrival at the backwater resort in Kumarakom, you check into your hotel.

After check-in formalities are over, you proceed for a tour of the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, Located on the banks of the Vembanad Lake; it is also considered as a birdwatcher’s haven. The place is also visited by migratory birds including the Siberian Stork, and kingfisher. During breeding season, one can see nests and breeding birds from the watchtowers. It is advisable to carry binoculars along while visiting the sanctuary. Later in the day you stop at Vembanad Lake, the largest lake in the state of Kerala as well as the longest lake in India, the lake is also the convergence point of ten rivers. The famous Nehru Trophy Boat Race takes place in this lake in the month of August every year. Marvel at the sights as you cruise through the serene waters of the lake on-board a houseboat. Today you have the entire day at leisure at Kumarakom. You could spend the entire day relaxing at the backwater resort or perhaps indulge in some Ayurvedic therapies. If you wish to explore Kumarakom on your own, you can visit Vembanad Lake, the mesmerizing backwaters and picturesque backdrop of the lake makes it a sight to behold.
