Upon arrival at Baghdad International Airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you will enjoy a traditional Iraqi welcome dinner where you can relax and prepare for the days ahead.
Today’s tour takes you through Baghdad’s cultural heart. You’ll visit the National Museum of Iraq to learn about the country’s rich history, followed by a walk through Rashid and Al-Mutanabbi streets, known for their vibrant markets and literary heritage. You will also explore Tahrir and Firdos squares, including the Martyr’s Monument, and visit the revered Khadimiya Shrines, where spirituality and tradition come alive.
You will depart Baghdad for Babylon, one of the world’s oldest and most significant archaeological sites. Explore the Lion of Babylon and the remnants of Saddam’s Palace before continuing to Karbala. In Karbala, you will visit the holy shrines of Imam Hussain and Abbas, immersing yourself in the spiritual and historical atmosphere of this sacred city.
After breakfast, you’ll explore Al-Ukhaider Fortress and the historic Al-Uqayser Church in Karbala. Later, you will drive to Najaf to visit the Shrine of Imam Ali, an important pilgrimage site. You will also visit Wadi al-Salam, the world’s largest cemetery, recognized by the Guinness World Records, where centuries of history are preserved.
Today you will head to Nasiriyah and explore the unique Mesopotamian Marshlands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll experience the beauty of this natural wonder and enjoy a breathtaking sunset while savoring the local delicacy, Masgouf — a traditional marsh Arab fish dish — by the water.
Your journey continues to the Great Ziggurat of Ur, a magnificent structure from ancient Mesopotamia. From there, you’ll travel to Basra, where you can stroll along the Corniche, enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Persian Gulf while admiring the Italian Bridge, and explore the historic Shanasheel houses, a glimpse into Basra’s architectural past.
After breakfast, you’ll return to Baghdad. The afternoon is free for leisure, with the option to visit a modern part of the city and relax at a local coffee house, enjoying Baghdad’s contemporary culture and atmosphere.
