Travel from Guatemala across the border into Honduras. Arrive in the charming colonial town of Copán Ruinas, located along a river and surrounded by lush coffee-growing hills. Visit the UNESCO-listed Mayan ruins of Copán, one of the most artistically rich archaeological sites of the ancient Maya civilisation, known for its beautifully detailed stone carvings, hieroglyphic stairways, and ceremonial plazas.
Spend a full free day discovering Copán at your own pace. Visit lesser-known Mayan archaeological sites, wander the quiet colonial streets, or head into the countryside to enjoy natural jungle hot springs. Optional excursions include horseback riding, birdwatching, or visiting a coffee plantation.
